PROVINCE RE-APPOINTS TARA MCKENDRICK TO POLICE SERVICES BOARD

(NIAGARA FALLS) – Jen Lawson, Chair of the Niagara Police Services Board, welcomed back Tara McKendrick of the City of Welland to the Police Services Board.  Ms. McKendrick was appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario for a further period of three years, effective April 1, 2024.  Ms. McKendrick was first appointed to the Board on February 21, 2018.

On Monday April 8, 2024, a solar eclipse will move through eastern Canada.  The path of totality will pass through the Region of Niagara over the cities of Port Colborne, Fort Erie, and Niagara Falls.

A solar eclipse is a rare natural event that occurs when the Moon moves between the Earth and Sun.  It is believed by experts that Niagara will be one of the top places in Canada to view the solar eclipse.
