The Niagara Regional Police Service’s Special Investigative Services Section provides support and information on organized criminal activity to the front line policing units of the Service. It also provides the Police Management with area policing recommendations to address current organized crime trends.

The Special Investigative Services Units collect information. They will then evaluate and distribute the information to the appropriate units for action. Some of these duties may have immediate results, while others may be long term in nature.

Special Investigative Services members collaborate with numerous other law enforcement agencies to monitor and respond to organized criminal activity in the Niagara Region. Special Investigative Services has units that collectively provide this support including the following:
